About Me

I moved to Elstead, Surrey in 2012 with my young family – never one to stand still, we quickly got busy with a new house build, settling our two boys into school and immersing ourselves in a wonderful village with lovely people and beautiful surroundings.
In 2019, whilst continuing to work in the NHS and having worked for numerous private practices, I realised a dream of setting up my own practice.

Professional Summary

I am a Chartered Physiotherapist qualifying from Kings College London in 1996. Early in my career, I gained a thorough grounding in musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, respiratory and neurological physio at a London teaching hospital, finally specialising in musculoskeletal physiotherapy. I have worked for the NHS my whole working life as well as operating within private practices both in London and locally in Surrey.

Expertise

After the birth of my first child in 2007, I took the opportunity to work as an Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner at the Royal Surrey County hospital, specialising in hips and knees; a role that I still perform today. I work closely with the lower limb and spinal consultants at the hospital. I am also part of a long-term hip research study looking at the effectiveness and longevity of uncemented total hip replacements.
I also work within the musculoskeletal service, responsible for triaging all new hip and knee referrals that come into the hospital from GP’s. In addition to my specialist areas, I maintain an active clinical case load as part of the wider outpatient physio team at the Royal Surrey, covering a wide range of conditions.

Approach

I am a “hands on” therapist. I assess the patients and recognise that often the source of pain is a complex picture of understanding normal movement and tissue responses. I work with a variety of soft tissue and manipulative techniques to help restore normal movement and reduce pain.

Following a thorough assessment, I aim to see results within the treatment session. This starts with all patients being given a generous time slot both as new patients and follow ups – something that can often be challenging within the NHS and other private practices. Every appointment will end with patients being given postures and exercises to aid their rehabilitation.

In my leisure time I enjoy yoga, cycling and walking in the beautiful Surrey countryside.
